A child of immigrants, I began professional life as a medical interpreter in an inner-city clinic in Boston, MA.  After moving to Oregon, I interpreted in the court system and taught foreign languages for many years, mostly Spanish and French but also French and German.  Currently I freelance from my home in central Oregon, interpreting in medical settings and translating documents from French and Spanish into English, and vice versa.  My most recent written project has been translating mental health research abstracts.

Language and writing skills go hand in hand.  My writing life meshes with my multilingualism, as articles on my travels in France, Spain and other countries have appeared in major print media.  In addition I have published two travel guides to the Pacific Northwest.  A list of my publications is available on request, as are personal and professional references.
